Ezra Donner has been teaching piano since 2009 and has taught students of various ages and experience levels, from 5 and 6 year olds to high school students and adults. His students have received Excellent and Superior ratings at music festivals throughout Michigan, including the Michigan Music Teachers’ Association Student Achievement Testing, Sonata/Sonatina Festival, and the 20th & 21st Century Music Festival at Grand Valley State University.
Believing that a thorough grounding in the Western art music tradition is the best training for musicians in many diverse genres and styles, Ezra structures his lessons to include a mixture of technique, sight-reading, and musicianship skills. His mission as a teacher is to foster excellence, nurture talent, and help develop musical literacy at all levels of experience.
