“My Story” Art Exhibition at Janice Charach Gallery | Living and Learning Enrichment Center

I was thrilled to have participated in the “My Story” Art Exhibition at Janice Charach Gallery presented by Living and Learning Enrichment Center from March 14 to April 3, 2024. The exhibition featured the work of over 30 talented artists, all part of the Living and Learning Enrichment Center community.

Living and Learning Enrichment Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities through therapeutic, social, work-based, and community engagement. The opening reception on March 14 was a wonderful evening filled with joy and inspiration.

Heartfelt Holiday Music Showcase: 2023 Studio Recital at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church

Our Holiday 2023 Studio Recital at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Ypsilanti was a magical evening filled with beautiful music and festive cheer. We had 12 performers showcasing their talent with Holiday-themed pieces. The event drew an audience of over 55, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere. The students’ performances were heartfelt and captivating, making the evening truly special. Thank you to all who joined us and contributed to the festive spirit. “Ruddigore (or, The Witch’s Curse)”

Last weekend I had the honor of conducting five performances of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Ruddigore (or, The Witch’s Curse)” with the University of Michigan Gilbert and Sullivan Society. This production, filled with its gothic charm and lively melodies, was a thrilling experience, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how everything came together. It was my seventh time serving as Music Director with UMGASS.

Halloween 2023 Studio Recital

Our Halloween 2023 Studio Recital was a frightfully fun event! Held at Kerrytown Concert House, we had 15 performers, each bringing their unique flair to the recital with creative costumes and spooky music selections. The recital was a perfect blend of music and Halloween excitement, and I’m grateful to everyone who participated and made it such a success. Happy Halloween!

Spring 2023 Studio Recital

Our Spring 2023 Studio Recital was a wonderful event, showcasing the incredible progress our students have made. Held in-person at Kerrytown Concert House, the recital featured 22 performers who delivered stunning performances of pieces ranging from Classical to modern. With an audience of over 100, the recital was a vibrant celebration of music and achievement. A special shoutout to Simon, who played his piece with just his right hand after breaking his left thumb – an inspiring example of perseverance and dedication. Well done to all our students!

“Patience (or, Bunthorne’s Bride)” with University of Michigan Gilbert and Sullivan Society

This past weekend I had the privilege of leading five performances of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Patience (or, Bunthorne’s Bride)” with the University of Michigan Gilbert and Sullivan Society. This was my sixth time as Music Director with this group, and I’m so grateful to our cast and crew for all their hard work and talents.

Holiday 2022 Studio Recital

Our Holiday 2022 Studio Recital was a heartwarming event that brought our community together to celebrate the season. We had 15 performers, each presenting beautiful renditions of holiday favorites and winter classics. The recital, held in-person, saw an enthusiastic audience of 45 who cheered on the students’ efforts. The performances were a testament to the students’ hard work and festive spirit. Halloween 2022 Recital

Our Halloween 2022 Studio Recital was a spooky delight! Held on Zoom, the recital featured 18 performers who embraced the Halloween spirit with themed costumes and decorations. Students performed eerie and fun pieces that perfectly matched the festive mood. With over 35 attendees, including friends and family from across the country, the recital was a fantastic celebration of music and Halloween. Thank you to all who participated and made the event so memorable!

Spring 2022 Studio Recital

It was a joy to see everyone together again at our Spring 2022 Studio Recital on Zoom! We had 14 performers, each presenting pieces they had diligently prepared over the course of the semester. The recital featured a diverse range of music, from Classical to contemporary, showcasing the students’ growth and versatility. With an audience of over 50, the event was filled with applause and encouragement. Congratulations to all the performers for their dedication and exceptional performances!
